Her
Journey
IHer journey began with classical ballet at the prestigious Dance Theater of Harlem, all while honing her English skills at City College of New York. In 2005, she caught the eye of supermodel Tyra Banks and soon after skyrocketed to fame by winning “America’s Next Top Model.” Instantly, she became the face of CoverGirl Cosmetics, a launchpad that led her to grace international runways and feature in high-profile magazines like Elle and Vogue Italia.
But Naima’s influence extends beyond the camera lens. She is a sought-after public speaker, gracing platforms at elite educational institutions and inspiring countless individuals. Her captivating talks range from personal empowerment to the transformative power of Buddhist theology, a testament to her intellectual depth.
Her book, “Model Behavior,” isn’t just a read; it’s a life-changing experience. Backed by reputable sponsors like Harvey Nichols and L’Oréal, the book has toured universities nationwide, inspiring a generation of young minds.
Naima is also a passionate advocate for global causes, supporting organizations like Hospicio San Jose Guatemala, aimed at helping HIV diagnosed orphans, and promoting women’s empowerment through initiatives like Runway 4 Peace.
Most recently, she penned and starred in an off-Broadway play, receiving rave reviews and landing a co-starring role in one of BET Network’s new hit shows. Her accolades include The Spirit of Detroit Award and the Key of the City of Cincinnati, recognition for her efforts to better the world.
